  • Make your party a success!

  •

Having a party is easy, but having a GREAT party takes hard work and a few added touches. Over the years DAD's Poker Night Casino Party Rentals has hosted HUNDREDS of casino parties in a variety of locations. Learning from our own experiences, we can offer several helpful tips to make your party a huge success!

  • Decorations - Decorations are a great way to turn any room into a casino atmosphere and are often the first thing your guests will see. Similar to Las Vegas, you may choose for your decorations to be elegant or completely over the top; It's totally up to you! Some ideas include the following: Drape sheer fabric over your light fixtures to create some mood lighting (make sure to watch for fire hazards). Hang oversized playing cards on your wall. Old cardboard boxes can be easily turned into decorative dice by facing them with colored paper and drawing on the dots. Regular playing cards and plastic gold coins or casino chips thrown around tables and centerpieces make cheap decorations and set the gambling vibe. Casino themed plates, napkins and cups are easy to find and add to the casino feel. Gift bags are a great way to greet your guests with everything they need for the night. Large signs that say phrases such as High Rollers Club or (Your Name) Casino can add a custom touch to any location. Use the DAD's Poker Night Casino Party Rentals free money maker to personalize and print out money that can be used to trade for casino chips at your event.

  • Invitations - Invitations for your casino theme party are the first thing your guests will see in reference to the party. In order to make a great first impression, your invitations should fully carry out the theme. Some fun ideas include invitations that look like oversized playing cards, party information written on a dealers hat and sent to your guests and invitations that resemble postcards from Las Vegas (Wish You Were Here, etc.).

  • Attire - Ask your guests to dress in themed attire. Themes could include attire similar to that worn in the early Las Vegas years, gangsters/mobsters, 007 secret agents, casino dealers, glamour girls or other fun costumes. Dressing the part will help your guests get into the theme and will provide them some excitement and anticipation before even arriving to the party. Be sure to mention the attire on your invitations.

  • Food - Finger foods and appetizers that you can pick up with casino themed suited toothpicks work well for this type of party. Since your guests will be moving around frequently, you do not want to serve any dishes that require silverware or require one to sit still to eat. Inexpensive paper plates and cups will make the job of cleanup much easier. Be sure to have plenty of trash cans available so trash does not get left around.

  • Drinks - Serve a variety of drinks. If you do not wish to serve alcohol at your party, you may make virgin (non-alcoholic) versions of these drinks instead. More than the drinks, your theme could have specially named cocktails that describe the event or occasion. Talk to our lead bartender Laura for advice on what to buy by calling 1-818-769-5705.

  • Outdoors - Hosting your party outdoors can be great for a variety of reasons. This can make cleanup easier, it can offer more room than can often be found indoors and it also adds to the atmosphere of the party. Always check the weather before deciding to host your event outdoors and have a backup plan for any unexpected rain or wind. Temperature is also important. Cold and humid days can make guests uncomfortable and often leave everything with a layer of dew. Outdoor heat lamps can offset this somewhat but on really cold days its best to keep things indoors. Finally, be sure there is ample light around the casino tables. Unlit games are difficult to play and can distract guests from having a good time. DAD's Poker Night Casino Party Rentals offers outdoor halogen lighting rentals if you are in need of extra light for your event.

  • Casino Games - Since all of your guests may not be casino game experts, make sure you have a few games from which to choose. Blackjack or Roulette are easy games to learn. For the more advanced players, you can offer poker, craps or other casino games. DAD's Poker Night Casino Party Rentals will provide your guests with casino poker chips to use as money. Even though they have no cash value, it will be fun to see who ends up with the most at the end of the evening.

  • Prizes - Even if your party is on a budget, it's important to have prizes for your guests. When guests are playing casino games and no prizes can be won, they will take the games much less seriously. When any prizes are involved, no matter how small, this adds a feeling of competitiveness to the games and will make players feel like they are really gambling. This is a very important element to keep your guests playing all night.

  • Background Music - Play popular music from the early days of Las Vegas including Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Make sure that the music is loud enough that people can hear, but not too loud so they have to talk over the music. This adds to the overall atmosphere of the event. DAD's Poker Night Casino Party Rentals also offers DJ services to make your party really rock!

These are just a few ideas to get you started in planning your next casino party. Because this type of theme party gets all the guests involved, it is a great way for your guests to get acquainted with one another and will not allow for any wallflowers. With a little creativity and advanced planning, your next casino party is sure to be a great success!
